Niewątpliwie bieda jest wielkim problemem w naszym społeczeństwie. Jeśli żyjemy w społeczeństwie dotkniętym kapitalizmem, potrzebujemy pieniędzy by przetrwać. But it is easy to get lost in chasing for money.

But it is easy to get lost in chasing for money. While Hajime Fujita was traveling around Europe, one night he had to sleep on the street in London. There he met homeless Tommy. LE MANQUE to historia dziwnego trójkąta. Mężczyzna, kobieta i mężczyzna.

LE MANQUE is a story of a strange triangle. A man, a woman and a man. It is a difficult love story which is not a mere, fable-like confession of two lovers. Paraphrasing Sarah Kane’s words, it is an overwhelming, heart outbursting, neverending, but always complicated and contrary love. In this performance we wish to join a word with a movement, a thought with an emotion to create dance theatre in its full meaning. The text used in the performance describes the longing for love, this not banal and at the same time the most beautiful feeling which is born between people.

Mandala Performance Festival

A performance artist is still associated with a provoking figure, a shaman, or a self-appointed therapeutist, who is ready to show us things we would not like to see again, and on times to see at all.
(RoseLee Goldberg)

Mandala Performance Festival is an annual international festival of performance art, taking place in Wrocław since 2005 on the initiative of Towarzystwo Kultury Czynnej (Active Culture Society) and Galeria Miejska (The City Gallery) in Wrocław which has been an independent organiser of the project since 2008. Eighty artists from eleven countries: Great Britain, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, France, Belarus, the USA, Portugal, Sweden and Canada, have taken part in five editions of the Festival.
The idea of the Festival is to introduce trends present in performance art, to extend the space of artistic search, to promote a formula of performing events which make a direct contact with the audience easy and build up a forum for various acts of creation applying the techniques based on movement, space and sound.
The Festival has an interdisciplinary character, and its title refers to the symbolics of mandala as a reflection of a present moment. It is a place of presenting varied interesting artistic tendencies, of exchanging experiences and of confronting artistic attitudes. Performance opens itself to other kinds of art, it allows them to enter its territory to co-create a new reality. It often combines poetry, dance and new media. It still evolves and opens new layers of perception, it makes direct communication and confrontation possible. The characteristic features of performance art are: vagueness, multitude of applied means and form openness.
The art of performance erases repetitiveness of theatre and fine arts, it often shows the ability of being art which enables aiming the people who are not related to culture or even the people excluded from it. It serves to create and lead any social projects. It is a live form of art, it articulates one’s attitude towards the world, it is the space of expression where an artist communicates with others.
Performance artists still search for new possibilities of sending a message, they benefit from choreography, narration. They notice our primary will to communicate, both with each other and the world surrounding us. There is no need to wait long for an inspiration to come – a thorough look at the reality is often enough. Each sound and movement, image and word, co-operate with each other to create a new kind of art. Performers verbalise emotional states and personal visions in their actions. In a short comment, it is hard to enumerate all sources of inspiration for authors of action art; it is both Jackson Pollock’s action painting, conceptual art, and Anna Halprin, Simone Forti, Yvonne Rainer’s innovative dance.
The fifth edition of the Festival focuses on the area of meeting between performing arts and choreography, on questions about identity and alienation in the contemporary world, on presentation of Joanna Leśnierowska’s ‘Solo Project’, performed in Stary Browar in Poznań.
The programme includes the artist who influence greatly the image of European contemporary art. The Festival is accompanied by meetings with the artists and panel discussions entitled ‘Body – Sex – Identity in Art’ .

BBB Johannes Deimling

BBB Johannes Deimling - an artistical and social value

BBB Johannes Deimling born 1969 in the german town Andernach on the Rhine River, has worked since 1988 as an artist in the fields of performance art, video, object, installation, drawing and music. Especially with his performative works, the artist became internationally renowned. In numerous performance art festivals, in exhibitions and in the public he presented his ephemeral works in Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Estonia, Austria, Romania, France, Italy, Spain, England, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Israel, Canada and Cuba.

Under the term 'agierte Bilder' - acted, or living images, used since 1995 the artist creates living images, which he puts into a pictorial aspect. Based on an idea or a concept a performance will be developed, with which he in an incisive moment the ontic tangible reality solidifies. In the moment of the presentation, constitutes an image that focuses everyday life or social conflict situations. Thereby accrues an acted image, which points beyond the bare experience of sense, because with each action Deimling alienates something from us that is well known. He uses well-known objects in a changed way, twists courses of action right around or remains in a pose, which appear at first sight strange, on the second all the more comes out with a deeper meaning. Here the creative act is the centre of attention. In the ultimately accruing image the precisely planned consistency of the first singular appearing gestures shows up.

He conceptualize an image of our society, which shows it full of contradictions, sentimentally, stupidly and badly, but also affectionately, creatively and cooperatively. He observes the world from his characterized point of view. A temporary image remains in the memory of the viewer. Particularly these images of BBB Johannes Deimling, show a nearly sliding transition between usual ordinariness and art.

Deimling finds his ideas and suggestions in the banality of the all day life and combines these researches with its own biography. The artist transforms topics such as patience, will, war, religion and transportation into physical images. The head is often a focus and again in the performances whether as living sculpture covered with plasters (band aids) or as material struck against the wall. At the creation of its acted images he works often with simple, poor materials.

Performance Art is for BBB Johannes Deimling of artistic and social value, which orients itself more on all day life than the meaning of art at the museum, a radical and honest form of the visual arts, which the creation of a work of art, its presentation, reception and reflection unites in one moment. The centre is the creative act. Not the commercial use of the work is crucial, but the volatility inspired by the impression of the viewer. The absence of a manifested artwork is not a fault, but a quality characteristic. An ephemeral moment happens and unites different personal levels, which the artist offers to his public. Deimling speaks with his body and with its movements and creates a platform of communication. This stands on four columns: The body of the artist, the time, the space and the communication with the viewer. In the moment the creative act merges the four elements into a unique readable sign of general importance, the heart of the artistic act.

Sylwia Hanff - premiera solo butoh ,,Dromenon"

DROMENON

SYLWIA HANFF

solo butoh

“Weź to, by przewędrować przez osiem pustyń.”

Mandala 2009 - Anita Wach

Anita Wach - INCH 1,5

koncept, choreografia, wykonanie: Anita Wach
Osią wydarzeń jest miejsce i czas teraźniejszy, sfera ciała i osoby, przestrzeń prywatna w przestrzeni publicznej, sfera domu i stan bezdomności.
W 2004 roku wspólnie z innymi artystami wzięła udział w multidyscyplinarnym projekcie prezentowanym w Berlinie i Wrocławiu. Studiowała filozofię i pedagogikę. Rezydentka pierwszej edycji SOLO PROJEKT w Starym Browarze. Solo w ramach programu było jej pierwszym w pełni autorskim projektem i debiutem choreograficznym. Pracuje i uczy tańca w Warszawie.

original idea, choreography and performance: Anita Wach

Not to be in the centre and to have a centre means to be permanently on the go, always in the now, always in some place. Going, we fill space with ourselves, set the direction with ourselves, find home wherever we stop. Space itself is homeless and empty, and, at the same time, full of potentialities. It is not enough to go, it is not enough to settle, it is not enough to simply be.
I am interested in the relation between man and the surrounding space perceived as a kind of riddle whose impact is permanently rediscovered. All powers and events present in the choreography are intended to manifest this mysterious might whose template rests in the unconscious.
Events revolve around the here and now, the sphere of the body and the person, the private in the public space, the sphere of home and the state of homelessness.
